The term for the Off-Grid Experts Awards 2015 applications has
started!
The Off-Grid Experts Awards have been tendered for the second time
now! The goal is to savour outstanding performances and impressions
in the field of “energy independence”. The Board of the
Alliance for Rural Electrification will be the jury to select the
winners in the categories “Product” and “Project”. The winners of
the categories „Photo“ and „Filmlet“ will be determined via a public
online voting. The award ceremony will take place on 26.09.2015 as a
final highlight of the Off-Grid Experts Workshop in Memmingen,
Germany.

Off-Grid PV Training in Eritrea
The large-scale project for the electrification of 314 local governments in
Eritrea financed by the EU is advancing. 36 local technicians,
installers and technical advisors of the Ministry of Justice, that
is the project owner, were
trained for the installation of Off-Grid solar systems in January.
The team of Phaesun Memmingen and Phaesun Asmara carried out an
intensive three days’ training course including both elements of
theory and practice in a training centre in the Eritrean capital of
Asmara.
In 2014, Phaesun had supplied the components for the solar systems
which will provide electricity for the computers, illumination and
other office equipment of local governments in rural areas of
Eritrea. Up to now, in many cases diesel generators are used which,
however, cause problems due to a lack of feeding and emissions. The
installation of these solar systems is supposed to be completed by

Monitoring PV-systems location-independent with OpticsRE
